FROM BACH to E.T., HARRY POTTER and 2001, JAMES BOND and a certain PINK FELINE

If you thought a cello was strictly a classical instrument, you ain’t heard nothin’ yet. Thursday evening, November 28 at Trinity United Church NOCCA presents Ô-CELLI, not one but eight amazing cellists from Belgium who will have you wondering “Can I believe my ears”?

After a tour of western Canada some five years ago, Ô-Celli returns, somewhat delayed by a pandemic but, by popular demand. Performing in concert halls around the world to standing ovations, “magnificent” hardly seems descriptive enough, but it sums up the level that this octet has taken one instrument and gone on to command a repertoire of music that ranges from the classical to the current. Bach to Bond, Mancini to Morricone, and even Charlie Chaplin take on a new tonality that must be heard to be believed and appreciated.

Having formed some fifteen years ago, “Also sprach Zarathustra” was the first arrangement to unite the octet, and, as they say, the rest is history.

NOCCA continues its Excellence in Entertainment.
